1 . When should I book my cake?

We appreciate as much notice as possible to secure your order and design your cake. Cakes are booked on availability – we recommend not leaving it to the last minute!

Wedding cakes: Please book your cake 4-8 months in advance, especially during the summer season

Custom designed cakes: Please book your cake 2-6 weeks in advance of your event

Retail bakery cakes: Please book your cake no less than one week in advance. Please note: short notice requests are based on availability.

We are sometimes able to accomodate last minute requests, don't be afraid to ask!

2. . How much will my cake cost?

Custom design cakes vary in price according to time, design, details, serving size and how involved the design is. We can provide you with an estimate if you provide us with pictures, serving requirements and design ideas. Please consider a budget for your cake, as this is extremely helpful in providing design options. 

Wedding cakes start at $6-$8 per serving 

Custom cakes start at $10 per serving with a minimum of $150

3D sculpted cakes start at $350

 3. Is there a deposit required to order a cake?

A 50% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required on all orders over $200.

Orders under $200 must be paid upon ordering and are non-refundable and non-transferrable. 

Pick-up orders: balance may be paid at time of pick up (cash, debit, credit card only)

Delivery order: balance MUST be paid 7 days prior

Please note: late payments may be subject to a service fee

We accept cash, credit, debit and e-transfers for payment

4. Do you provide consultations and cake tasting?

Consultations and cake tastings are provided for wedding, corporate event and larger special events.We custom design all of our cakes and provide consultations and cake tasting for a $25 fee. Appointments are 1 hour in length, during which time we discuss ideas/budget, serve all of our cake flavours, sketch a design and provide a quote. We do not provide cake tastings for all orders and are usually able to consult with clients via phone or email. 

We also offer sample packs of our cake flavours for $15.  If you do not require a consultation appointment, a sample pack is a good way to try our flavours. Please call ahead and we can have one ready for pickup within 24 hours. 

Please note: because we are a fully operational commercial bakery, and out of respect for our clients and staff, consultations are limited to no more than four people. We kindly ask that children not accompany our clients for consultations if possible.  We want you to get the most attention in your consult and our meeting room is not kid proof! 

5.  How to I book an appointment?

Call us at 780.458.2922 to book your appointment. Days and times available are booked according to our work schedule for the week. Please note: we do not book consults through email as dates/times often get filled in between correspondence.

6.  What can I expect during a consultation?

Consultations are in a comfortable setting with a no-pressure approach. We work with you to create a one-of-kind cake that reflects your style and personality. When designing a custom cake for you, it is helpful if you provide us with an idea of the atmosphere you are creating for your event with inspiration taken from colours, pictures, décor and venue.

7. Do you deliver cakes?

We take the utmost care in delivering wedding cakes and large event cakes.  Our staff will unbox the cake, do any finishing work required (adding floral, toppers, etc) and place on the cake table

Smaller orders, such as retail cakes, cupcakes and small custom cakes may be sent by a local taxi service that sets pricing (typically starting at $50).  Please call the shop for availability.

Delivery & Set-up (large events or weddings only): $75 (this includes delivery to site, assembly on cake table, and floral & cake topper placement if provided) in Edmonton.  St. Albert deliveries start at $15+gst

8. Can you make a cake that is dairy, gluten or nut free?

Our decadent cakes are not dairy, gluten or nut free. If you have such dietary requirements, we will gladly recommend local businesses that specialize in cakes of these kinds.

We do offer vanilla gluten-free cupcakes by special order. Please call the shop.

9. Will I have enough cake?

We use a more generous serving size than industry standard, our cakes are more than 4 - 4 1/2" tall!  We use three decadent layers filled with Italian buttercream. Our portion sizes on slab cakes are based on 2" x 2" to 2" x 1 1/2" portions.

10. Cancellation Policy

With the exception of same-week orders, orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placing order and a refund will be issued. 

For larger orders such as wedding cakes, written cancellation notice must be received no later than 90 days prior to the event date.  A refund of deposit minus a $50 administration fee will be issued within 5 days of notice and acceptance of cancellation.

Cancellation refunds made within 90 days of event are at the discretion of management and if a refund is issued, it will be in the form of a gift card minus a $50 administration fee.
