How much will my cake cost?
That’s a question we get a lot. We also get requests for quotes on ‘a simple cake.’ Unfortunately, our idea of a simple cake may be completely different than yours!
Our wedding and tiered cakes start at approximately $6 per serving for buttercream iced cakes and $8 per serving for fondant covered cakes. Pricing increases mainly depending on the design you choose.
The ‘B’ Word?
Come prepared to talk about the “B” word. We’re talking budget! Most every Bride has one and we get that. We certainly don’t want to design a cake that is out of your price range, so the more information you give us, the more options for designs we can give you!
Do you offer wedding cupcakes?
Yes, we do wedding cupcakes! Our standard size cupcakes come in lots of flavours and your choice of brown, gold or silver wrappers. Pricing starts at $36 per dozen
Mini cupcakes are also available (brown wrappers only) Pricing starts at $15 per dozen
If you are planning a cupcake tower with a small cake topper - we offer a 6 inch cake starting at $65
Fake it?
We are asked often if couples can have fake tiers on their cakes. Usually this is because they think that having a fake tier will save them money. Since our cakes prices are based mainly on design, the savings are minimal. We do not do fake tiers on cakes less than 5 tiers, and even then, it is at our discretion. Styrofoam cake ‘dummies’ usually come in a standard 3 inch height which makes it difficult for us to work with as our cake tiers are usually 4 – 4 ½ inches in height.
How much cake do I need?
That depends on how the cake is being served. If it is your main dessert, of course, we suggest enough for every guest. If it is being served later in the evening, or with other desserts, the suggested amount is about 2/3 of your guests.
Our cake servings are based on a 1 inch x 2 inch slice that is 4 – 4 ½ inches tall. We use a more generous serving guide than some, so keep that in mind when getting quotes on cakes.
Need extra servings? We offer basic buttercream iced slab cakes (no decoration) starting at $45 each.
Can I come in for a consultation and cake tasting?
Absolutely! Sitting down with one of our designers is the best way to discuss your options for a cake. This is a chance to see your dream wedding cake designed before your eyes! Please bring pictures, colour samples, invitations and any other items we can use for inspiration in designing your cake. As stated previously, we also want to be respectful of your budget, so the more information you share, the better we can assist you.You can book a consultation and cake tasting with one of our designers.
We have a $25 fee for a 1 hour appointment. We discuss ideas/budget, serve all of our cake flavours, sketch a design and provide a quote. We do not use pressure sales and want you to take time to discuss your options and make a decision that is right for you! Consults are booked on Saturdays during business hours and some weekdays. Please call our shop to book an appointment as we don't schedule through email.
Note: because we are a fully operational commercial bakery, and out of respect for our clients and staff, consultations are limited to no more than four people. We kindly ask that children not accompany our clients for consultations if possible. We want you to get the most attention in your consult and our meeting room is not kid proof! :)
If you already know the design you love, or do not feel an appointment is necessary, you are also welcome to arrange to pick up a cake sample pack from the shop for $15. Please call the shop a few days in advance so we can have it ready for you!
